TYP Committee Overview
Tucson Young Professionals committees help drive our mission forward by creating meaningful experiences, amplifying our advocacy work, and deepening community impact. Each committee is member-led and supported by TYP staff, offering leadership opportunities, skill-building, and connection. Members can get involved by joining any of our committees. Ambassadors Committee
Purpose:
Create a welcoming, connected experience for all members. Ambassadors are the front line of TYP’s community-building work.
What They Do:
- Engage members at events, support check-in, and help new attendees feel included
- Foster conversation and connection across the organization
- Represent TYP at events and in the community
- Share feedback and insights from members to help strengthen programming
Ideal For: Outgoing, relationship-driven members who love helping others feel at home.
TYP Parents Committee
Purpose:
Support members who are parents by fostering connection, sharing resources, and advocating for family-friendly engagement within TYP.
What They Do:
- Host family-friendly meetups and experiences
- Build community among parents and caregivers
- Identify barriers to participation and develop solutions
- Curate resources related to childcare, education, and work–life balance
- Support the launch of TYParents programming starting in 2026
Ideal For: Outgoing, relationship-driven members who love helping others feel at home.


Professional Development Committee
Purpose:
Advance the personal and professional growth of TYP members through meaningful learning experiences and mentorship.
What They Do:
- Curate workshops, panels, and speaker events
- Support the annual TYP Mentorship Program
- Identify topics and trends relevant to young professionals
- Develop multi-session series and leadership learning tracks
Ideal For: Members passionate about learning, career growth, and supporting others’ development.
Advocacy Committee
Purpose:
Lead TYP’s civic education, issue-based advocacy, and young professional engagement in local policy.
What They Do:
- Guide TYP’s annual Advocacy Survey
- Develop policy statements, endorsements, and educational resources
- Host ENGAGE events—with local leaders, subject-matter experts, and community partners
- Track local issues affecting young professionals (housing, workforce, transportation, etc.)
- Ensure alignment with nonprofit guidelines and member priorities
Ideal For: Members interested in civic involvement, policy, and shaping Tucson’s future.


Philanthropy Committee
Purpose:
Connect TYP members to local causes, nonprofits, and service opportunities to build a more vibrant, equitable Tucson.
What They Do:
- Plan volunteer projects and service days
- Build partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations
- Coordinate philanthropy initiatives and seasonal giving projects
- Highlight opportunities for ongoing member involvement
Ideal For: Service-minded members who want to give back and deepen their impact.
