Tucson Young Professionals Returns to Board-Led Model to Advance Mission and Future Impact

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TUCSON, AZ — March 25, 2026 — Tucson Young Professionals (TYP), a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to serving the region’s young professionals, announced this week an organizational transition designed to strengthen its long-term sustainability, reinforce its mission-driven priorities, and position the organization for future growth.
Since its founding in 2007, TYP has been committed to connecting, developing, and empowering young professionals across Tucson through meaningful programming, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. Supported by a wide network of community partners and sponsors, TYP continues to serve as a central hub for relationship-building and professional development for young professionals in the region.
To ensure continued impact in a rapidly evolving economic and workforce landscape, TYP’s Board of Directors has made the decision to transition away from the Executive Director role and return to a working Board model.
“As we look ahead, this transition reinforces our commitment to our mission and to the young professionals we serve,” said Jean Montano, Board President. “We are prioritizing sustainability, strong governance, and the continuation of the programs that define the TYP experience.”
TYP’s core programming- including CEO Roundtables, TYP Connects, mentorship initiatives, advocacy efforts, and TYParents- will remain central to the organization’s work. These programs are now being led directly by Board members, with continued support from committee volunteers and community partners.
Through our core programming, TYP is proud to serve as a platform where Tucson’s young professionals can develop and strengthen key skills for today and tomorrow’s working environment. In a workforce increasingly shaped by technological change and artificial intelligence, TYP remains focused on cultivating the human skills that matter most: relationship-building, communication, adaptability, and a growth mindset. Our programs facilitate this skill development, with both professional and community-oriented applicability.
The Board is currently working through a thoughtful transition process with outgoing Executive Director Jessica Sueskind.
Jessica has contributed meaningfully to TYP through her service as both a Board member and Executive Director,” said Montano. “Her leadership helped expand our partnerships, bring new insights to the organization, and create a welcoming and engaging environment for our members. We are grateful for her dedication and wish her continued success.”
TYP remains deeply committed to its members, partners, and sponsors, and looks forward to continuing its role as a driving force in building a vibrant, connected, and forward-looking young professional community in Tucson.
