The TYP Philanthropy Committee is a group of TYP members committed to growing a culture of philanthropy within our membership, learning about what it means to be a local philanthropist, and providing our members with opportunities to give to the organizations and causes they care about. Once per quarter, our TYP Philanthropy Commitee meets at a local non-profit to learn about the host organization and plan the months ahead.
Join us on May 20th for a tour of The Earnest House and hear from The Howe Project team about all of their work to support our fellow community members, strengthen our neighborhoods, bring safety to our streets and break cycles of generational poverty for our most underserved families.
The Earnest House provides transitional housing and wraparound support for individuals working to rebuild their lives after homelessness, incarceration, or addiction. Their homes offer a safe, structured environment where residents can focus on recovery, employment, and long-term stability. They partner with local organizations to connect residents with jobs, healthcare, and mental health services, and they run social enterprises like Heavy Kettle Popcorn to provide job training and income. Every person at The Earnest House is working toward a fresh start—and they support them along the way.
The Earnest House team will be giving us a tour of their homes and will share an overview of the work they do and they impact they've had to date. This is an opportunity for you to cultivate a more direct connection to our unhoused population and learn how you can get involved with organizations working to support them.
We've been asked to bring a meal for the Earnest House guests to enjoy as a way for us to give back and thank them for sharing their space with us on the tour. If you are able to help provide a dish to feed about 20 people, please sign-up here.
